GK – Ran – 1st

I have finally finished my first Garage Kit. I can’t believe I picked such a small kit. It is only 11cm. Another note: I really need ventilation in my work area.

Now I can’t really review my own garage kit like a PVC figure or else I will rate this as the worst figure I own, lol.  I am now transitioning in posting my pictures bigger as I think thumbnail view is too small and I guess it’s pretty annoying in clicking every picture. lol

The bright side is that my paint job seems to be on par or better than Yamato’s Kanu.
And the build quality may be on par or better than Griffon’s Ryoufu.

The eyes were pretty hard to paint. I swear I was losing my eye sight while painting them.

The figure looks A LOT better in person than from the pictures. I can’t really take micro pics as then this figure will look like crap. Had to use a Lego block for the front as this figure tilts forward.

This whole figure was hand painted. You can’t really see from the pictures but the dress is like glossy black as I put a coat of clear gloss over it to distinguish from the hair. It is harder to see from the pictures.

Overall, I think I did a pretty good job. But, comparing to the original, mines look like crap. haha. The original came with a sword but I didn’t put that on as I think it doesn’t suit the character. There are also sandals but I didn’t make them because I find them useless as they are just for props only. The original also comes with like butterfly and heart stickers. But, I think keeping it like this is pretty enough.
